MWFA Thanks Linda Ward and Dave Anglicas

Manly Warringah Football Association would like to sincerely thank outgoing Directors Linda Ward and Dave Anglicas for their service to football on the Northern Beaches.

Linda has been involved in football for over 40 years, including 10 years as MWFA President. She has held positions at both Club and Association level, in addition to serving on the Football NSW Board of Directors. Linda was instrumental in developing a partnership between amateur football and representative football, one which provided a pathway for this region’s footballers to achieve their goals without having to relocate. She also liaised with both footballing and government bodies to facilitate the development of Cromer Park, the home of football on the Northern Beaches.

For her service to local football and expertise in football governance, Linda was named as a Life Member of Manly Warringah Football Association in 1999. She has also been awarded with an MWFA Meritorious Service Award, an Australian Sports Medal, a Football NSW State Award, and a Football NSW George Churchward Medal.

Dave has a lifetime association with local football – his involvement as a player, coach, administrator, and manager spans over six decades. He is a Life Member of St Augustine’s FC, and to this day he is still coaching. Dave has been the recipient of an MWFA Meritorious Service Award, the MWFA Secretaries’ Shield, the MWFA Coach of the Year Award, and a Football NSW State Award, a fitting way to recognise his tireless efforts to improve the game in this region.

Manly Warringah Football Association wishes Linda and Dave all the best with their future endeavours.
