It all comes down to tomorrow night, when BTH take on Seaforth for the title of Challenge Cup Champions at 7:30pm on Cromer Park Field 1.
The two sides have battled their way through the rounds to make it to the big stage.
With neither club having ever claimed the title tomorrow night’s match will see history be written.
BTH will enter the match with the experience of last year’s Challenge Cup final, however this time they will be looking to go one better and hold the trophy at the end of the night.
“It is obviously where you want to be, you want to be in the big games, it means everything” BTH coach Ash Mathieson said.
“The girls were there last year and hopefully we go one better.”
However, both sides know that it will not be an easy feat. Having played two very close matches against each other in the premier league season the players are prepared for a tough battle.
Seaforth’s coach Chris Wood can attest to that fact.
“We played BTH a couple weeks ago, we know they are a tough side, both games against them have been 50/50 and they are a very good team” Wood said.
Mathieson also spoke in high regards of their opponents. “It is going to be a great game; Seaforth are the benchmark. We have played them twice this year and they have been pretty close games.”
As the big dance rapidly approaches both teams are continuing to prepare as normal however neither can deny the importance of the match.
“We’ve been together for about four years as a group, and we’ve been building towards something like this. Every year we get to this point, but we’ve had covid get in the way and now it is finally all coming together for us” Wood said.
Mathieson simply put “It means everything.”
So, who will be crowned Challenge Cup Champions tomorrow night? Will BTH rewrite last years ending or will Seaforth raise the trophy?
Come down to Cromer Park at 7:30pm tomorrow night to find out!
